About Carolyn A. Winston

Before starting her own company Ms. Winston worked for AT&T, Florida Lottery, Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, Private Industry Council, and Premier the Education Division of Franklin Covey. She held positions as Director of Women Owned and Minority Businesses, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Systems Analyst, Regional Sales Manager, and Educational Consultant. She has represented twenty-six book publishers and oversaw an education market of seventeen million students with direct or influential buying power. After starting her company seventeen years ago, Ms. Winston, landed contracts and subcontracts with large businesses and Fortune companies such as Lucent Technologies, Mazda North America (Rasheed Associates), Walt Disney World( Snelling and Snelling), JetBlue (KForce), U.S. Department of Transportation (Latin American Management Association ), and Enterprise Florida. She partnered with the Association of United States Army (AUSA) Families Services Program Directorate to develop a cause marketing campaign. She has represented several clients, branded or positioned their products in the education market and has been a grant reviewer for the Florida Department of Education. Ms. Winston assisted in the launch of an internet service provider company and an online video sharing internet Company. Her most recent accomplishments are the creation of two media products, Let’s Talk Biz  and This Is Our News.

She is an advocate of large businesses mentoring small businesses. She knows the value of mentoring as a mentor and a mentee; Pat Williams, Senior Vice President and Co-founder of the Orlando Magic is her business mentor of sixteen years. Ms. Winston has assisted in the business development of over two hundred small businesses and has partnered small businesses with large businesses through mentoring protégé programs. She negotiated with the U.S. Department of Energy to establish a loan program for women and minorities. Her work is highlighted in the U.S. Justice Department Monograph, Business Alliance: Planning for Business and Community Partnerships.  Ms. Winston developed the Carolyn A. Winston, Small Business and Nonprofit Sensational Shopping Spree and Networking Event. The community give back event is held at a major wholesale company and supported by strategic partners. Carolyn A. Winston, Inc. awards cash gift cards at the event to small businesses and nonprofits to purchase products which will help them conduct their businesses more effectively and efficiently.

She has hosted and produced three radio shows, Job Line Live,  Appointment with Success  and Kid-Kareers.  As a columnist she authored, “Marketing Its’ Your Business”.

Ms. Winston obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Marketing Management at Rollins College. She remains involved at Rollins in her role as the volunteer events coordinator for the Rollins Alumni. Ms. Winston is a past candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, a past member of U.S. Commission of Civil Rights, and the Board of Pharmacy. She resides with her family in the Central Florida area.
